about me

Linda Marchisotto

All of my experience has led me to create expect beauty. My mission is to champion the Creative, in all its forms; to cultivate Beauty and put it out in the world, to advocate for originality and authenticity as a way of living and being in the world; to urge you to awaken your senses and to inspire you to seek out and connect with your authentic Self so that you may create a unique life of love, beauty, fulfillment and nourishment at the soul level.

My life’s work has centered around Art, the Creative and Beauty. I went to college intending to become a writer. My first Art History class, however, changed all that. It totally transported me to another realm; one that was deeply evocative and moving and exciting on many levels. It was a direct engagement with Beauty and the Creative that I had never experienced before and it became clear to me that I needed to involve myself with Art and Beauty for my life’s work. Then, junior year I went to Rome. That first day, when I looked at the Palatine bathed in the late afternoon light, I was completely awestruck by the mystery and magic and Beauty before me.

Living in Rome, my senses came alive and were often in overdrive. Everyday became a feast for the senses - art, architecture, color, light, the sound of water flowing from the fountains, the barrage of colors in the market place, the ever present aroma of food and coffee...the chaos (essential to the creative). Beauty everywhere, invoking feelings of longing and desire; appreciation and gratitude; nourishment, stimulation and fulfillment.

Throughout my 20’s, I continued to live in Rome part of the year while running a contemporary art gallery in New York City.  For over 35 years, I was active in the New York art world, first as a gallery director and for many years as an independent curator for two major corporate art collections: Dow Jones and MetLife.

I live with my Italian husband, an artist, in an “Italian farmhouse” (flooded with light, color, books, studio space and a garden) in downtown Brooklyn. Here, we have raised our two beautiful sons, and nourished a creative life of art, beauty, good food, family and friends.
