honoring our dreams
Dreams are our portal into Psyche’s realm; into the realm of the imaginal - and to access our dreams we have to let go of linear time and linear thinking. We enter a world where the language is completely different. It is a language of metaphor, signs, symbols, images and archetypes and one we can become proficient in if we listen, open up our awareness and connect to it on a daily basis.
Our dreams offer us deep insight about ourselves and our lives and show us what we don’t readily perceive on the conscious level. When we actively work with them, we find solutions to problems, other ways of seeing and being, new ideas, inspiration, insight and flashes of the creative.
To live a rich full life, we need to be in contact with our inner world. Dreams are our vehicle. They restore our soul every night and by paying attention, we are able to access their (our) deep wisdom. Psyche wants us to become whole and will come after us every night until we pay attention. Life then opens up because we are in sync with our path.
Every night we receive subtle and often not so subtle messages from our higher Self, inviting us to read the signs. Each person’s dream process is unique. And while we may be tempted to look up images in a “dream dictionary”, there is no formula, nor is there one meaning. The images and narrative in your dream only have meaning for you, in the context of your life and who you are.
In Dreamwork sessions, we will discuss what’s happening in your life right now; then look at the dream: the narrative, the images, the associations, and the metaphors and discuss what meaning these have for you in order to discern the message or insight coming through to you.
